Vina GSA Management Committee
The Vina Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA) was established through a Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) between the County of Butte, the City of Chico, and the Durham Irrigation District. Each member agency designates a representative to serve on the Management Committee, ensuring collaboration and representation from across the region.
The Management Committee operates under the guidance of the Board of Directors and is tasked with several key responsibilities as outlined in Section 11.1 of the JPA, including:
- Recommending agenda items and proposed actions for consideration by the Board of Directors.
- Administering the Stakeholder Advisory Committee to support stakeholder engagement.
- Establishing and overseeing technical working groups to address specific groundwater challenges.
- Preparing and presenting staff reports and technical analyses to the Board of Directors.
This committee is essential to carrying out the Vina Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP). It connects the technical work being done, feedback from stakeholders, and the decisions made by the Board of Directors to ensure effective groundwater management in the Vina Subbasin.
