Public Hearing of Proposed SGMA Fee Adoption
VINA GROUNDWATER SUSTAINABILITY AGENCY
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR PROPOSED GROUNDWATER SUSTAINABILITY FEE ADOPTION
PUBLIC HEARING TO BE HELD WEDNESDAY, JUNE 11, 2025 AT 5:30 P.M. AT THE CITY OF CHICO COUNCIL CHAMBERS LOCATED AT 411 MAIN STREET IN CHICO.
The Vina Groundwater Sustainability Agency (Vina GSA) will consider adopting a resolution to establish a groundwater sustainability fee to fund local sustainable groundwater management pursuant to the Sustainable Groundwater Management act (SGMA). The SGMA Fee resolution will be considerered by the Vina GSA Board during a public hearing on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. at the City of Chico Council Chambers, 411 Main Street in Chico.
The public is encouraged to participate in the public hearing and provide comments either in person at the public hearing or submit via email prior to the public hearing to vinagsapubliccomments@chicoca.gov.
The Fee Study Report supports the SGMA Fee, includes the fee methodology and proposed fee amounts, and may accessed from https://www.vinagsa.org/funding-the-vina-gsa.
Hard copies of the Fee Study Report are available for review at the Chico Public Library, 1108 Sherman Ave. in Chico and the Vina GSA office at 308 Nelson Ave. in Oroville.
If adopted, the SGMA Fee will be collected by the Butte County Treasurer-Tax Collector beginning with the 2025-2026 property tax roll. Properties that do not receive a tax bill will be invoiced directly by the Vina GSA.
